M O V I N G?

A lot has changed ever since my last post. When I say a lot I mean A LOT. With that being said I have decided to create a new blog.
I kind of see this as a new beginning. New blog : New beginning.
I have already made the blog url: http://vibitiy.blogspot.com
Although I already have the url made, I am not sure if I want to keep it or change it.
So for now it will be blank since I am still in school.
I just want to let you beautiful souls know that this blog will be inactive BUT I will keep the posts and blog online!

Cheers!

Long Time

Hola! Bonjour! Hello!
It's been a long time since I've blogged hasn't it? It's that time of the year again where everyone is back to school and sadly I fall under that category of everyone. But wait, wasn't I in school in summer and I managed to blog? Yes indeed I was, however the number of courses have increased and the difficulty of these courses is, let's say, five times harder. However, don't fret my beautiful friends! Just because school is occupying most of my time doesn't mean I won't blog here and there. I do have some spare time on certain days and on those certain days I told myself I would blog, tend to my needs with beauty/fitness, DIY projects and of course resting. I had to make a timetable for myself this semester only because I'm really bad at time managing. You'd be surprise on how well you follow it after you create one! Although today isn't my spare time to blog I'm doing it anyways. Why? Because I was supposed to be at work, however I caught some nasty flu or bug and I've been sick for weeks. I'm getting better, I hope.

ANYWAYS that's enough of catching up time with me. I want to get to the actual business of this post. Which is: books!
My last two post was about me doing a book review on "Time for a Change" by Erica David. At the end of my review I said I would do an upcoming review on "Objects of Worship" by Claud Lalaumière! I have exciting news for my fellow book lovers who want some good reads! I finished this book AND I managed to finish another book "Life of Pi" by Yann Martel! So this will be a two in one book review!
(Brace yourselves, I think this will be long)

Objects of Worhship - Claud Lalumière
First of all I want to say this is not an ordinary book(it's a good thing).
If you guys are into dark fantasy and twisted(in a good way) stories then pick up this book!
Objects of Worships contains twelve short stories that dive into different categories such as religion and god, humanity and relationship, natural environment, animals and zombies.
I was a little skeptical about reading this because of the word zombies in the synopsis but I found myself enjoying the two short stories that contained zombies.
It was hard not to turn a page when I was holding this book.
I was intrigued. From the beginning of the book to the end my curiosity of what story was about grew more and more as I completed each of the twelve stories.
Claud's writing is very unique and sophisticated.
The tone is pleasing to read and never a dull moment.
Claud knows how to end his stories with a nice finish, not allowing it to be too long.
Be warn though it's not your everyday fiction book.
Like I said it's a dark fantasy with twisted ideas!
3.5/5

Life of Pie - Yann Martel

I've always wanted to read this book. I remember two years ago I was searching for a pdf file because I was too cheap to actually buy the book.
Lucky for me my friend bought it and lent it to me(this was still two years ago).
Fast forward to now I just finished the book today and started five days ago.
I probably would've finished earlier but I only read when I'm travelling to school/work or anywhere.
Anyways I watched the movie before reading the book and I got to say I'm glad I did or I would have been kind of disappointed.
Like all movies it left out key scenes that I thought were important.
The movie is vague from my memory but by reading the book, it brought back to life of some of the scenes in the movie that were stored in my head.
Yann Martel's writing is extraordinary. My eyes followed every word and I didn't skim anything. I was infatuated how he described Pi's journey on the boat with the tiger.
He made it seem so real, picturing in my head was easy.
Like Objects of Worship it made me want to turn the page.
I was surprised each page.
I cringed, I smiled, I laughed, I even teared up reading this novel.
4/5

There you have it folks.
Be prepared next book review is:
Don't mind my sheets or my ugly thumb.

Get Your White Back!

I myself love white clothes/shoes. However because of my lack of care and the colour's vulnerability to get easily stained most of my clothes and shoes are marked up with stains and other sorts of marks. Of course I was choked and I thought I couldn't do anything about it until I saw a post in Pinterest. I don't specifically remember where I saw it from but I'm here to show you lovelies on how to get your white colour back on your clothes, shoes, bags and even your teeth.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED...
-your item of choice that you want to clean (in this case I grabbed my Nike Free Run 1.0).
-baking soda
-hydrogen peroxide
-a mini towel
-tooth brush or cloth if you prefer
-a container to mix the hydrogen and baking soda together

Pour the baking soda and hydrogen peroxide in the container.
You want to have a 2:1 ratio of baking soda to hydrogen peroxide only because to get that pasty-like texture.
Once you get the pasty/thick enough texture go ahead and start scrubbing/brushing!

I chose my Nike Free Runs because they are the dirtiest thing I own for a pair of shoes.
Not even my white converse or my keds are dirty(AND THEY'RE ALL WHITE).
Be patient with cleaning, it does take a while but this is the safest way to clean your shoes/clothes.
Why?
You don't want to throw your shoes in the washing machine because the machine will damage your shoes and stretch it out. Basically it won't be the same.
I know some people say use bleach but that is a no no! Bleach is a very strong chemical which can burn your skin if not handled with care. If you're clumsy like me then hydrogen peroxide and baking soda is the way to go. (yes hydrogen peroxide can cause some skin irritation such as dermatitis but that's only if you use it too much[like everyday]).
The antiseptic property of hydrogen peroxide makes a good cleaning agent that reacts well with the sodium bicarbonate(aka Baking Soda!)

Here are the final results!
I wished I took a before and after but the first picture you can tell the stains are gone!
After I scrubbed them clean I took a cloth and soaked it in hot water with anti-bacterial soap then wiped down my Nike Free Runs to get rid of excess baking powder and to get rid of some germs/tough grease marks.

Here are the close up for my shoes.
I took these pictures outside on my balcony just so I have better lighting since my camera doesn't have great quality!

For clothes: Let's be real people we all have that one shirt with yellow stains at the armpit before we knew we could prevent that. I own a few shirts back in the day that have stains in the armpit area and I found it so annoying because I could never wear them again. Bet you didn't know there was a way to remove it! Basically what you do is make the same mixture: Baking Soda + Hydrogen Peroxide with a little bit of water. Grab a big hand brush like:
(Bad quality, I tried to find a better one! THIS IS NOT MY PICTURE).
After you're done scrubbing the hell out of that armpit area soak it in water then AIR DRY! After that you have your favourite white tee back!
(you can use this method on your bags/bottoms!)

For teeth: Who doesn't want white pearly teeth? I'm sure everyone wants them but doesn't have the money to splurge on those expensive whitening teeth pens or the Crest 3D whitening trio products! Well now you don't have to splurge because you can whiten your teeth with hydrogen peroxide and baking soda! What you will need to do is get a small container and add your favourite minty toothpaste, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Mix well so that the consistency is like a tooth paste and brush your teeth!
You can also purchase those mouth guards and put the paste in their and set it in your teeth! Whatever works best for you!
(NOT MY PICTURE)
-Mouth guards: ~$4
-Hydrogen Peroxide Full Bottle: ~$8
-Baking Soda: ~$1
Crest 3D Whitening Trio Pack(tooth paste, mouth wash, whitening strips: $100+)
Save your money people! Spend it on better things ;)!
[Although I can't say I don't have these products, they work well too!]

For nails: If you enjoy getting your nails done and you do it more than twice a month then you will start to notice your nails going yellow. It's because of the chemicals from the nail polish and nail polish remover eating away at your nails. A simple way to brighten those yellow tip nails is make the paste like mixture and apply a good amount of the hydrogen peroxide and baking soda on the tip of your nails or all over your nail depending which part is yellow. (Make sure you're covering it!)
(NOT MY PICTURE)

I hope you all enjoyed this tip!
Let me know if you lovelies know other ways to whiten or your experiences with using this method!
(next post: nail care!)
Later Days lovelies.

Time for a Change - Erica James

Something that I'm getting back into is reading! I used to be a reader back in high school only because they had this program called Accelerated Reader where everyone in the school has to meet a minimum of points and it's worth 8% of your English mark. Ever since then I've been reading books from left to right. After I graduated I became lazy to pick up a good novel with a cup of tea and just read. However I just got back from my road trip and I brought two books with me. I finished one and I'm on my second one where I'm halfway through it.

The first book that I finished is called:
Time for a Change by Erica James
The book is pretty beaten up and that's only because I got it at a Second Hand Book Store!
I love going to those Second Hand Book Store because they sell novels that are usually $20-30 for 99 cents.

Time for a Change is about a woman name Hilary who discovers a secret about her husband: David that can ruin her marriage. She finds out that her husband is having an affair and doesn't know what to do. Turning to her friends and family for advice they give her two options
1)Ignore it
2)Confront it.
The novel follows Hilary on her dreadful journey keeping this horrible secret just to save her marriage.

What I really liked about this novel was the whole cheating aspect and Hilary ignoring it. I don't know why but I'm kind of a fan of cheating movies/books ONLY because I want to see how they act and how they will get their justice and respect back from their spouse/partner.
Some things I didn't enjoy about this book was that it kept jumping characters. In one chapter it would be about Hilary and the next chapter it would be about a different character(e.g Cindy[the neighbour she confided in who shares the same fate that Hilary is going through]). I also didn't appreciate the ending of the novel. I thought it was pretty random on what happened between the characters and some events in the novel weren't really necessary. In fact I thought they were totally irrelevant to the plot.

I had heard good things about Erica James and I know this isn't one of her best books but I don't regret reading it because in fact it was interesting on how Erica portrayed Hilary. It's not a common thing that any person would just turn a blind eye on their cheating partner.

Out of 5 I give it 2.5/5!

Let me know if any of you guys read this book or read any other books from Erica James!

MAKE UP T A G

Ah yes you read the title right. A make up tag... YAY!! I love doing these types of questions and I was tagged in one of these tags by the beautiful, rad and awesome Kathleen aka pastel-mermaid. You guys definitely need to check her out. Why? Because she has great tips, insights, awesome photos and a great sense of fashion!
Now let's get to these questions shall we?

  1. How old were you when you started wearing make up?
I think I officially started wearing make up in grade 9 because that was when I started using liquid eyeliner, mascara and eyeliner!
  2. How did you get into make up?
As sad as this sounds I wanted to impress this guy I liked and I thought he would notice me if I started wearing eyeliner and what not. (HE DIDN'T BTW, that just shows you shouldn't change yourself just to get someone's attention. Be yourself, be you❤)
  3. What are some of your favourite brands?
Drug store brands: Maybelline, Rimmel London & E.L.F
High end: Make Up Forever, MAC & Urban Decay
  4. What does make up mean to you?
As Kathleen pointed out on her blog: it is definitely an enhancer. Make up is to enhance your beauty. Oh and I kind of find it very therapeutic because it relaxes me? (If that makes sense...)
  5. If you could only wear 4 products on your face what would they be?
    -Concealer
    -Face Powder/Settling Powder
    -Mascara
    -Eyebrow Pencil
(as of now these are the only products I'm using since it's summer and I sweat a lot so my make up goes down with the sweat [I know gross]).
  6. What is your favourite thing about make up?
It makes me feel very girly and I like that. Oh and it's very calming? I don't know I'm really weird.
  7. What do you think of drugstore make up vs. high end make up?
Just as long as I get my money's worth on either make up then I'm happy. I mean it would be nice if the drugstore would have the quality of the high end but whatever.
  8. What is one tip you can give to a beginner
    TRY EVERYTHING!!! Just kidding!
Read reviews, watch YouTube videos and ask questions to your friends/family/make up professionals when you go shopping.
OH if you're filling in your eyebrows make the inner eyebrow closer to the nose light so your face doesn't look too harsh(UNLESS YOU'RE GOING FOR THAT THEN FILL IT IN TO THE MAX).
  9. What is one make up trend you never understood
Colourful eyeshadows. I'm sorry if you wear colourful eyeshadows but I never really understood them. Yeah they look awesome on people who can pull it off (especially those models who are modelling "unique" dresses) but I never understood it. It's like someone grabbed a marker or paint and smeared it on their eyelids or something. (I guess cause I can never rock those colours?)
  10. What do you think about the beauty community on YouTube
To be honest YouTube was one of the reasons why I started to talk about makeup and fashion on this blog. Before I would blog about my life and stuff but watching people give their insight and all that made me want to do it too. So mercibeacoup/arigatou/xie xie/salamat to all them beauty bloggers/YouTubers/whatever y'all are

Whew I'm done!
Hope you all enjoyed reading my paragraphs hehe
I shall tag...

SHORT HUR. DON'T CUR.

Lately I've gotten a lot of comments on my hair. Majority of the comments I would get in a day were
  • "wow your hair is so long!"
  • "your hair looks amazing!"
  • "dang your hair is so long!"
Along with the comments/compliments were followed up with questions such as
  1. How long have you been growing it?
  2. Doesn't it get in the way?
  3. Are you planning to cut it? If so are you going to donate your hair to help those who have Cancer?
I want to make a post on how long I've been growing my hair and basically the background of me growing it. 1) I have been growing my hair ever since JULY 3, 2014. So a little more than a year. This is what I looked like.
(I got the date from the properties of this image)
On this day I got a haircut as well.
I have been growing my hair before this haircut image ever since last summer as well!
(IT WAS REALLY LONG).

Before my recent cut JULY 18, 2014 this is what my hair looked like!
I honestly didn't know I was growing my hair this long!
Even I'm astonished!
(Too bad I had no talent with my hands to utilize all this hair! LOL).

AND THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE NOW!!

It's much shorter than this actually so here's an actual pic
Yeah that's how much they cut off!
Keep in mind all the hair they cut off without the ponytail ;)

2) YES! My hair was always in the way! I hated it! When it reached passed my chest I was constantly tying my hair up in high ponytails or ridiculously messy buns! Honestly I should be used to it because this isn't my first time growing my hair that long!
I KID YOU NOT, back in elementary my mum forced me to grow my hair long to donate to the Cancer foundation for those patients who have lost their hair so they can make a wig! At first I was reluctant because growing your hair is such a pain the butt! However I pulled through and my hair actually reached my calves! I cut my hair for Confirmation(that was in grade 7). So technically I was growing my hair back then for at least 7 years(8 if you include pre-k). I am kind of fed up with long hair so I might just stick with my current length right now. Some people say it's too short but I mean, if you like it, rock it! It's you who is going to be in that lifestyle. Don't appeal to others, only to yourself.

3) As you can tell with the picture above, yes I am donating my hair to the Cancer foundation again! When the lady asked me if I was going to donate it I said yeah! (Initially I wasn't going to but then my mum the day before I told her I was going to cut my hair told me to bring it home so we can donate it again!).

Anyways I am loving my hair right now! The only downfall it's still not long enough to curl, but it'll get there :)! Hope you enjoyed this post about my hair.
At first I wasn't going to do anything or post anything about my hair but this is the first time I've had short hair in 4 years? I thought it was pretty significant. Well... to me!

Anyways reese's peaces<3

FASHIONETO

How awkward. I said in my last post I'll be binge posting but that never happened. I think what happened was when I was waiting for the pictures to upload I was getting kind of sleepy? I think that day I had an 8 hour early morning shift. I was probably exhausted and fell asleep right after I posted the pictures up. ANYWAYS, before I go to sleep I wanted to do a post that I was meaning to do earlier. Like 3 weeks ago.

Usually I check my email at least everyday and I found this interesting email in my inbox! I got emailed by a man name Ondrej Winter, the founder/CEO of Fashioneto. Fashioneto is a social network website that connects people who are interested in fashion and want to share their passion and meet others who are just as passionate. It is also a website where you can purchase clothes of different styles based on the people you interact with! As of now the website is still under some construction since they are in the beta stage of developing.
At first I thought this email was sort of like a prank? However I got this feeling that I should reply which I did and I assure you all this is not a joke! This is a real website and Ondrej is a pretty cool guy! I have the opportunity to try Fashioneto and meet other people who kind of have a thing for fashion, like me!
What I'm expecting out of this experience is to meet a variety of people who deal with their own sense of fashion and how this whole process of purchasing based on personalities and inspiration!

I am really stoked to try Fashioneto and I am also very honoured that Ondrej personally asked me to be part of his "team." (I had no better word for that!)

I could probably go on and on about how psyched and ecstatic that I am about being part of this but I'll save it when I get to test it for myself! I'll be sure to blog about it and update you lovelies!
When the time comes for Fashioneto to be open to everyone I hope you all take the opportunity to try it out! It looks very promising :)!

you can visit the website to learn more about him!
oh and like the Facebook page!

Crack-A-Lackin?

Hello lovelies!
What's crack-a-lackin'?!
Today is my only day off and then starting tomorrow I'm back on my busy schedule. Lately I've been working everyday just so I can save up money for my 'murica trip! Oh and also to pay for my tuition next year. I don't know I just thought if I'm making a lot of money I might as well help my parents by paying for my own tuition AND my phone bill. (Hello independence? Just kidding, I'm probably going to live with my parents till I'm 40 LOL).
On a much more serious note I'm going to BLOG BINGE LIKE CRAZY RIGHT NOW.

Japanese AYCE and Gelato at Science World Park
Love this Gelato place! Sooooo good!
I hope you guys can see it but it has 218 flavours!
Some outrageous flavours like curry and wasabi are included!
I got Blueberry Cheesecake & Hazelnut
Forgot what my girlfriends got
hehe
Here are the attempts for a selfie in the car
Not happening...

It was a really chill night. We just ate our gelato and sat on the grass just talking, catching up.

Random Outfits?

I told you my next post would involve an outfit video. What I didn't say was that it's pretty damn random. The landscape of the videos aren't consistent and the names of the outfits I given them are kind of weird. Oh well at least I'll have more space on my phone now that three videos are gone!

Song: Moments - Giraffage

Something Girly
Tan Spring Jacket - XXI
Basic White Tee - H&M
Floral Pink n' Orange Skirt - Zara
Knock Off Birkenstock Sandals - Walmart
Retro Sunnies - XXI
Reptile Texture Purse - H&M

I don't know why I called this "Something Girly"
It was probably the skirt.

The Odd One
Black with Cream Floral Button Up - Salvation Army
Charcoal Crop Top - H&M
"Ashy" Denim Shorts - Salvation Army
Brown Vintage Loafers - XXI
Reptile Texture Purse - H&M

I really suck at explaining the article of clothes I am wearing.
Black with cream floral button up? Like say what?
Oh and "Ashy"???
Oh well, at least you guys can sort of tell what I'm saying... right!?

Vintage Sun
Navy Zip Up - (My Brother's)
Gray Sleeveless Button Up - Salvation Army
Black Harem Pants - XXI
Knock Off Birkenstock Sandals - Walmart
Retro Sunnies - XXI

I feel like this is what my mum would wear back then, I guess that's why I called it vintage.
The sun in the name was because of the weather.
(I was kind of burning if I recall)
(Why was I wearing that? I was indoors the whole day!)

I hope you lovelies enjoyed this video =)!
Ciao for now <3

Mini Purchase #??

Sadly this will be my last mini purchase until my trip to the states in August! I am so freaking psyched for this trip because there are so many things I want to get. The only reason why I'm not buying anything anymore here is because it's cheaper! Oh and they also have way more stuff than we do!
Anyways let's get to the purchases shall we?

Rose Gold Watch - $35 Aldo
I've always been a fan of big watches.
If they're gold or silver its a plus.
If its rose gold however it's a bonus!
I have been looking everywhere for a decent rose gold watch.
Don't get me wrong I love my MK watch but that's too valuable to me to wear it on a daily basis.
So I got this rose gold watch to wear it everyday and I won't have to worry about the scratches
because it's not a $400 watch.
I mean come on $400 watch vs $35 watch.

Gray Knit Shawl Cardigan - $90 American Apparel
Once in a blue moon I'll buy something from this store.
I guess it was a blue moon when I got it.
I have been eyeing this shawl cardigan ever since it came out.
I must say I do not regret buying this cardigan!
It's comfy, soft, warm and light!
Pretty much goes with anything.
I mean if you're going to wear it everyday then it's worth the price!
(quote by: Michelle A).

Left: Heather Crop Top Turtle Neck Long Sleeve - OG: $15 SALE: $3 H&M
I went to H&M because I was looking for a nice summer dress.
I ended up buying this LONG SLEEVE top.
How ironic eh?
It's summer now but I purchased a long sleeve top, weird how my spending habits are.
Although I can't really complain because the weather over here is like a girl who keeps changing her outfits!
(great analogy/simile eh?)

Right: 3 Gold Lace Ring Set - $3 H&M
I apologize for my hideous hands and nails.
They would be painted but I chipped/broke most of my nails so I'm waiting it out until they grow out!
I don't know what's wrong with me and rings.
I've been purchasing a lot of rings lately.
Oh well I can't really complain, I love this set!

So that's it for my purchases!
The next purchase post you lovelies will see will be sometime in August.
My next post will be an outfit video :)!

Leo's Crib

#FriendshipFridays pt. 2
My friend Leo hosted a get together because his basement was finally finished. He had it renovated or something. Yes, we had some drinks. Yes, we were careful. Drink smart friends! This was on June 21!
